Throughout all the ages of man, there has been a tendency to intrude into matters “invisible”. Man’s latent curiosity has often been aroused to know about, and to try to contact, those who have “passed on”. The Bible records much evidence in the Old Testament of groups of people devoted to practices of this kind, and the Lord gave Moses dire warnings for the children of Israel, that should anyone be found indulging in such practices, they would be under penalty of death. 11. San Francisco Earthquake, and Azusa Street
Books about general knowledge, and encyclopedias of one type and another, all have graphic accounts of the devastating Richter 8.25 earthquake that almost completely destroyed the city of San Francisco on April 18th 1906. But something else was transpiring way down the California coast at Los Angeles at the same time, which is very difficult to find recorded in any books. And yet to the one who has an active faith in Jesus Christ, this other event cannot be dissociated from the earthquake, and indeed helps to explain it, rather than “explain it away,” as is the common habit. The following historical information has been extracted from “Prophecy Today”, Volumes 7 & 8. [Read more…]
12. The Llanelli Vision of July 1914
Sunday June 28th, 1914 was a turning point in European history, for on that day Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the Austrian throne, and his wife, were assassinated in the Serbian town of Sarajevo. The repercussions of this event reverberated throughout Europe.Austria’s reply was sent to Serbia on Thursday 23rd July. It was an ultimatum, and because the response was unsatisfactory, war was declared on Tuesday July 28th. Britain, along with other countries, entered the war on Tuesday August 4th. The British Foreign Secretary, Sir Edward Grey, spoke his famous prophetic words that same day – “The lights are going out all overEurope. We shall not see them lit again in our lifetime.” What Sir Winston Churchill called“this terrible half century” had begun. [Read more…]

Of all the games held throughout Greece, the Olympic Games are the most famous. 14. The emergence of the European Union. Revival of the Roman Empire
PART 1. THE DOWNFALL OF EMPIRES.
As we approach the climax of the ages, and God begins to establish His Kingdom on earth in a visible manner, the subject of national identity and sovereignty assumes vital importance. The Scriptures declare unambiguously that God favours the establishment of nations, each with its own identity, customs, and manners, even though the “Kingdoms of this world have become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ.” The United Kingdom of Christ is a spiritual foundation stone, but it will contain all the varieties of national characteristics. Even as each human being is unique in God’s creation, so also each nation in the Millennium will be unique. Furthermore, each nation will be self-governing, not ruled by other nations. Each nation will need to look to the Spiritual Head over all nations, even the Lord Christ Himself. [Read more…]

18. Russia, Lenin, and Aristocoli’s prophecy to Valentina
Many different influences were beginning to affect the world in the latter years of the 19th century. Truly there was a great wind of change. It was as though “the four winds of heaven were striving on the great sea”, and certainly some pretty nasty beasts were arising out of the turbulent waters. Whether they were the fulfilment of Daniel’s visions and prophecies, only time will tell, because there is no concensus of opinion amongst Biblical scholars as to the interpretation of Daniel’s vision. However, in this historical survey it has been our intention to introduce factors which don’t normally appear in the history books, and so we continue that process, this time within that great eastern country of Russia. First of all, a little background. [Read more…]
