Here is the Divine Name once again, presented backwards, as in the last PT.
H | V | H | Y |
LION | OX | EAGLE | MAN |
These four Cherubim were defined as a unit in Ezekiel 10, and also in Revelation 4.
See how the Lion and the Eagle form a pair, as is fitting with the Name’s two Hs. The Lion is the king of the beasts, and the Eagle is the king of the birds.
The Ox is a clean animal, designed by the Lord to be useful to Man. Hence it is under the letter V.
The Man Cherub signifies that which is completely different to the other three, and represents the Lord Jesus in His human life.
“Each one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, the second face the face of a man, the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.” (Ezekiel 10:14)
“The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle.” (Rev.4:7)
