Isaiah wrote of His coming, saying He would be called Emmanuel, “God with us”. Paul spoke about the mechanics of His coming, saying that He “emptied Himself of His Divinity and became a human, even a servant.” When He came few recognised Him for what He truly was, The Son of God.
He borrowed the womb of a Jewish maiden to come to the earth as a Man.
He was laid in a borrowed manger at the time of His birth.
He borrowed Peter’s house as a domicile for His Capernaum ministry.
He borrowed six waterpots to provide wedding guests with wine.
He preached to the crowds from a borrowed boat.
He borrowed a lad’s lunch to feed 5,000, and similarly the 4,000.
He used a borrowed ass to ride into Jerusalem.
He ate His last supper in a borrowed Upper Room.
He was placed in a borrowed tomb after they crucified Him.
But when He comes again it will not be like this. The pride of man will be brought low. And the Lord alone will be exalted in that day. He will be the Judge between the Nations. Dominion will be granted to Him by His Father. And eventually every knee will bow, and confess that He is Lord.
