“Judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts.” 1 Cor.4:5
“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Phil.1:6 The Message puts it like this – “There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.”
“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing.” 1 Tim.6:12-14
“You were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.” Eph.1:13-14
“Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord.” James 5:7
These sundry admonitions and promises all speak of the day of Christ’s return. Because of the CERTAINTY of His coming again, and of our joining with Him, these Scriptures help us to keep in mind the necessity of constant diligence, prayer, and Bible reading and fellowship, to be ready for the Great Day.
We have seen the word UNTIL to be of vital importance. Little words can often be overlooked.
